Umpiring

Umpiring is a vital part of our club and of netball itself. As a community club, we rely on members, past players, and parents to help run games - not just by playing, but by coaching, umpiring, and volunteering.

Training & support

  • Fully funded training — the club pays for official umpire courses.

  • Qualified mentors — you’ll have experienced umpires to guide you.

  • Flexible rostering — you accept or decline assignments as needed.

  • Pathway — start at club level and progress to association matches.

You don’t need to know everything before you start—we’ll support you every step of the way.

How to get started

  1. Contact us at stmonicasnetballclub@hotmail.com to let us know you’re interested.

  2. Learn the rules — check out the Netball Rules and the 2024 rule updates.

  3. Create a Refbook profile at refbook.com.au.

  4. Email SAUCNA Umpires (saucnaumpires@gmail.com) with your Refbook email and mention you’re from St Monica’s. They’ll add you to the association umpire list.

  5. Accept or decline assignments when you’re rostered—this keeps our teams running smoothly.
